Who We Are
EwaShea is operated by NovaLink Studios ("EwaShea," "we," "us," "our"). If you have questions about this policy or your information, you can reach us at info@novalinkstudios.com.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect the information you provide through your chosen sign-in method:
- Sign in with Apple: your name and email address. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we receive a private relay email instead of your real email.
- Sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile photo.
- Email sign-up: your email address and a password. Passwords are encrypted and we never see them in plain text.
Your activity in the app
- Brands and products you save to your personal lists (Want to Try, Tried, Won't Try Again).
- Personal notes you add to saved items.
- Search queries and category filters you use within the app.
Device and technical information
We automatically collect basic technical information when you use EwaShea, including device type, operating system version, app version, language preference, approximate region (derived from IP address, not precise location), and crash and performance diagnostics. We do not collect your precise location.
Outbound link activity
When you tap a link in EwaShea to visit a brand's website, that click is routed through a short link (Bitly) so we can understand which brands users are most interested in. The destination brand may then collect its own information about your visit according to its own privacy policy. EwaShea is not responsible for the data practices of the brands we feature.
Website visitors
Our website (ewashea.com) collects basic analytics from your browser, including pages visited and referring source. It does not require an account.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the app: create and secure your account, save your lists and notes, and personalize what you see.
- To improve EwaShea: understand which brands and features are most useful so we can make the app better.
- To communicate with you: respond to support requests and send important account or service updates.
- For affiliate attribution: when you tap an outbound brand link, we may receive a referral credit if you purchase. We do not see your purchase details — only that a referral occurred.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect EwaShea, our users, and the public.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.
How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers that help us run EwaShea, and only as needed:
- Supabase — our authentication and database provider, which stores your account and saved lists.
- Apple and Google — when you choose to sign in through their identity services.
- Bitly — which provides the branded short links used for outbound brand links.
- Hosting and analytics providers — including Netlify (website hosting).
We may also share information if we are required to do so by law, to enforce our terms, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you).
Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: you can view and update your account information at any time from the Profile tab in the app.
- Delete your account: you can delete your EwaShea account from the Profile tab. This removes your account, saved lists, and notes. Some information may persist in backups for a limited time and in records we are required to keep by law.
- Opt out of communications: you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in any email we send.
- California, EU, and UK residents: you may have additional rights, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us at info@novalinkstudios.com to exercise these rights.
Sign in with Apple
EwaShea offers Sign in with Apple as required by Apple's App Store Guidelines because we offer other third-party sign-in options. Sign in with Apple lets you create an account without sharing your real email address with us. We treat data received through Sign in with Apple the same way we treat data from any other sign-in method.
Children's Privacy
EwaShea is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security reasons. Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to you may be kept indefinitely.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted password storage, and access controls on our backend systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Users
EwaShea is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of EwaShea after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
